TomEE-8.0.0-SNAPSHOT green and deployed

Mark Struberg-2
hi folks!
The TomEE8 branch is now green and I've deployed a snapshot version to repository.apache.org.
If you want to try those out then you can download them from here:https://repository.apache.org/content/groups/snapshots/org/apache/tomee/apache-tomee/8.0.0-SNAPSHOT/

Of course we still need to do a bit of cleanup and publishing. But most of the stuff should work already.
Happy to get some feedback!

I think you just beat me to merging in master - I had a handful of test
failures I was looking at, specifically:

org.apache.openejb.arquillian.tests.jms.ConnectorWithApplicationResourcesInEarTest.testShouldMakeSureWebappIsWorking
org.apache.openejb.arquillian.tests.jms.ConnectorWithApplicationResourcesInWarTest.testShouldMakeSureWebappIsWorking
org.apache.openejb.arquillian.tests.jms.JMSInjectionTest.testJMSInjection
org.apache.openejb.arquillian.tests.sharedenv.SharedEnvironmentTest.org.apache.openejb.arquillian.tests.sharedenv.SharedEnvironmentTest

Happy to look if they still don't work.

Is there a CI build for the fb_tomee8 branch? Happy to try and add one if
not.

yes seems to be working fine on my development server also.  a bug
(https://bz.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=61875) preventing me
from upgrading to 7.0.4 also seems to be working better.
i notice that OpenJPA and MyFaces are also snapshots.  will they all be
released at the same time as TomEE 8?

Hi Jon!
No, think there is none yet. Did all the build on my MBP and my Linux box.

They are now both all green (running all tests except Multicast which fails due to firefall respective SElinux). As documented here: https://github.com/apache/tomee/blame/master/README.md#L14

Not sure whether it's worth setting up a CI for that branch.Would rather love to switch it over to master pretty quickly.

Yeah, looks good here too, thanks Mark. I had missed the CXF dep on the
arquillian-tomee-jms-tests package.

Agreed. Let's move on with the switch to master. I wouldn't mind having a
CI build for what will become the tomee-7x branch, but I we can set that up
after the switch over.

Re: TomEE-8.0.0-SNAPSHOT green and deployed

Mark Struberg-2
Yes, of course once we move tomee7 to a maintenance branch we should need a CI for it.
Lazy me just wanted to spare that work for the few weeks till then ;)

We need both anyway so +1 to wait for the switch and then define a 7 branch
build
